Director of Product Management

Job Description

As the director of product management your job is to identify, analyze, and understand the market's customers and competitors, translating those insights into winning product definitions. You have responsibility for defining and managing all aspects of the product solution--product lifecycle, product plans, MRDs, etc.

Responsibilities

• Develop expert level understanding of the target market's needs and the competitors' products.
• Produce Product Plans and MRDs (market requirements documents) that define the business case, product roadmap, and customer needs.
• Establish value proposition, market position, and differentiated messaging. Collaborate with corporate marketing to drive demand and product launches.
• Work with leadership team to define business strategy and product direction
• Act as product champion communicating product messaging to customers, analysts, journalists, and other market influencers.

Requirements

• Minimum of 12 years experience in software product management; at least 2 years at Director Level.
• Industry Background in Social Networks and Social Media, CRM, Web Analytics, or Market Intelligence is a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Outstanding team player and demonstrated ability to successfully work with engineering department
• Proven track record of understanding user needs and defining market-leading products
• High drive to succeed
• Bachelor's degree, MBA is a plus
